Alzheimers Society If you have concerns about Alzheimer's disease or about any other form of dementia, the Alzheimer's Society national helpline can provide information, support, guidance and referrals to other appropriate organisations. Callers speak to trained helpline advisers. Calls to the helpline are confidential and callers do not have to give their name. The helpline is usually open from 8.30am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday. The number to dial is 0845 300 0336

Admiral Nursing DIRECT Admiral Nursing DIRECT is a direct access telephone information and support service for family carers, people with dementia and professionals. It is staffed by experienced Admiral Nurses. From the beginning of February 2007, the service will be available during the daytime on Tuesdays and on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, from 6.00pm until 9.00pm.Callers at other times are encouraged to leave a message and an Admiral Nurse will make contact. 0845 257 9406 direct@fordementia.org.uk

Carer's Drop-in Centre Located on the 2nd floor,  SAVS Centre, 29/31 Alexandra Street, Southend-on-Sea. Open to Monday to Friday, between 10.00am - 2.00pm, Carers are welcome to drop in for information, support, a cup of tea, a chat or just to take the weight of their feet.
 
The War Pensioners’ Welfare Service (WPWS) exists to enhance the quality of life for veterans and beneficiaries of SPVA pensions and compensation schemes, and all their dependants. It does this by offering a visiting service, providing ongoing support, promoting independence and helping them to access all appropriate services to meet their welfare needs. Peaceful Place are Southend's Charity for Younger People with Dementia
The Peaceful Place Day Centre is a voluntary organisation, which was set up to cater for the recreational needs of physically active members of the community with dementia. They also offer 1:1 and group support for carers.
The first centre was opened in Shoeburyness in January 1996, since then due to demand we are now open four days Tuesday to Friday at St Lukes, Dalys Road, Rochford, Essex Telephone 07774978241
 
Age Concern Southend Aims to provide services which respond to the needs of older people in the borough. From our office and assisted by our team of volunteers, we offer comfort, friendship and practical help to residents who feel isolated or who need regular or occasional support in maintaining the life which they wish to lead.
